Nan Fischer’s Bio

I started this blog to combine eco-friendly building and real estate with other aspects of my life. I have a site for my real estate business as a Certified EcoBroker, www.nanfischer.com and a Facebook fan page, Taos NM Green Homes. I wanted to convey more information, though, since being ‘green’ is not just attached to building. Granted, buildings are the biggest energy hogs and a great place to start curtailing energy consumption and emissions, but my ‘green-ness’ has been my lifestyle since I was a kid.

I don’t need to ‘go green.’ I have ‘been green’ for a long time. Read some of my history.

Being green, to me, is a progressive mindset. You can’t possibly vote Republican and drive a Prius. If you do, I smell internal conflict. That said, you will find progressive ideas here, because that is who I am.

My eco-friendly lifestyle is holistic, encompassing all I do. My work and life are intertwined. My real estate website covers one aspect of me, and this covers the rest. I am many-faceted, but under one umbrella.
