(Nan’s Note: I have wanted to be an architect since I was a kid, having easily spent thousands of hours designing houses on paper and mentally redesigning every building I’ve ever been in. My wannabe architect and eco sensibilities are soothed here in Dornob’s Green Home Gallery displaying contemporary, eccentric and organic designs of wood, stone, glass and earth. What a wonderful evening I’ve had exploring this site!)
Green design is popular – almost too popular. It is tempting to get caught up in the aesthetics of eco-friendly architecture and environmental design but there is a real purpose behind this shift in ethical architectural practice. These buildings are both compelling in terms of their appearance and innovative in their response to the natural world which is the context for all structures.
